Pick the languages before a call
Sayply listens to two streams separately: your microphone, and the sound coming out of your speakers. The language of each stream is chosen manually, before the session starts.
Why manually
We tried automatic language detection and removed it. The recogniser picked a language once, at the start of the conversation, and stayed with it until the end: when the first phrase was short or unclear, the whole session turned into meaningless words. A manual choice cannot fail that way.
How to choose
There are two selectors at the top of the window:
- the language you will speak (your microphone);
- the language you expect to hear from the other side (your speakers).
Ukrainian, Russian, English, Polish and German are available. Both selectors are locked while recording, so make the choice before you start the session.
When the languages differ
That is a normal case, not an exception: you speak Ukrainian and your client speaks English. The two streams never mix, so each one is recognised in its own language independently.
If the language changes mid-call
Sayply does not switch languages on the fly. If the conversation unexpectedly moves to another language, end the session and start a new one with a different choice — everything recorded so far is kept.
Other languages
The list has five languages for now. If you need another one, write to us: such requests shape what we build next.
